WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?
EVERY THURSDAY, 7:00PM - 8:30PM
Facilitated by: Chandrasekhar Swami

We live in the age of information, where everything we want to know seems only a click away. How much do we really learn? How much wisdom, perspective and insight does information actually provide us? Where science and technology reach their limits, traditional cultures provide meaningful answers to age-old questions. In this class, we attempt to leave our modern-day cultural perspective behind and jump into a world-view time machine of sorts. Using ancient wisdom as our guide, we will seek answers which offer a new perspective on navigating life in our world.

The program for June/July explores the term “materialism,” its nuances, and the philosophies it implies. We will also explore how materialism affects our modern society, and how the philosophy of materialism became such a dominant mode in the modern person’s view of the world. Understanding materialism and the interdependent matrix that supports it will allow a person to deeply grasp the nature of our modern world and understand the unfortunate choices that individuals, governments, business, and other organizations keep making, drawing our world closer to destruction.

Classes are free and open to everyone. Start any time. No RSVP necessary.
